Fingals cave was also on the telly recently, as one of the top ten must visit places in Britain. Can't remember what number it was or what was the most must visit place as the telly went on the blink that night.

Felix Mendelsohn composed 'Overture to Fingals Cave' following a visit to the Western Highlands in the early 1800's.

Turner painted the picture, though the cave isn't visible, the cliffs just are.
Mendelssohn's Hebridean overture is the music.

I must be one of a small select few who has actually swum into and out of Fingal's cave - with no wetsuit etc. Jumping in from the end of the walkway into the sea was good fun!
