Jack and I went for walk in the woods today (more caches to appear in due course!). Fungi all over the place. Must have spotted at least half a dozen varieties - massive death caps, lovely bright yellow ones, multi stemmed what Jack called 'Dr Who' fungi and AB's favourite, the Stinkhorn.

Unlike your lawn, ours is a riot of huge Birch Boletus fungi. Edible but nowt to write home about.
However, the best yummy Chanterelle have been found at a cache not in Fife. PM for location...not. Laughing

Oh, some nice field mushrooms and puffballs near the horses at Clatto!
If you're not sure about the Chanterelle, no, they're not like the tired ones at exorbitant prices like at the Pillars of Hercules. Those fresh ones had the proper 'apricot'ey scent. But you have to be out early! The deer eat them too and if you're late the slugs get there!
Cooking? With your meal, in omellettes or even sauteed gently in Port.
Cool
