The Purpose of GeoX
Geox is an informal discussion board/magazine. Its purpose is to provide a meeting place and first-level resource for those with an interest in countryside affairs in general, and geocaching in particular.
The Ideals of GeoX
The GeoX experiment presupposes that a healthy and worthwhile internet discussion forum can exist without the intervention of self-appointed "Moderators". GeoX members are assumed to be intelligent, literate and ethically conscious people, who are capable of conducting a written conversation in a responsible and mutually respectful manner.

The Necessity for GeoX
GeoX is not "just another geocaching forum". It was born out of a growing disillusion with the arbitrary way that forums such as Geofrees and Geocaching Ireland are conducted. In particular, the philosophy of GeoX is that troublemakers, trolls, political extremists and others with axes to grind, have in actuality been "protected" on other forums by over-zealous moderation. Such people rely on this type of intervention to shield them from robust contradiction, and popular ridicule.
On GeoX, members deal with anti-community behaviour themselves.
The Aims of GeoX
Unlike other forums, GeoX has no imperative to attract a large membership. Rather, the aim is to foster a high intellectual standard of discussion - as well as useful and (perhaps) amusing original material. Our members are looking for quality, not quantity.
