|What goes and what stays
On GeoX, there is no "Moderation Policy" as featured on other internet forums. Instead, GeoX members use two methods to regulate their own forum. These are...
* Reasoned and robust debate.
* The "Challenge" process.
Unlike some other internet forums, we draw a distinction between that which is true, and that which is untrue. Contentious statements which are TRUE, can be accepted - at the discretion of the members themselves. The onus of proof is on the original poster. For more information on the "Challenge" process, see this article.
However... regardless of the foregoing, there are certain types of content that we cannot carry without violating the terms laid down by our hosting organisation. Posts containing disallowed material will be deleted immediately and without annotation. The disallowed content includes (but is not confined to) the following categories...
* Soliciting for commercial gain
* Promotion of political or religious organizations, or which seeks to further the aims or policies of such organizations
* Explicit pornography
* Content likely to be considered defamatory under UK law
In addition, members should not present material which has been copied from other sources, as their own work.
