|
|
Those of you who frequent the forum on a regular basis will be aware that a new Edinburgh geocoin will shortly be available for sale. Jack Aubrey and I have jointly funded the project, but we do not intend to make a profit out of the venture. Equally, we do not have the time to wrap and post coins, so they will only be available at events, collection by arrangement, or via another cacher.
200 antique silver coins will be made and 50 limited edition bronze coins. I am hoping to have them in time for the Edinburgh CITO/Hunt & Munch. I am also hoping to be able to attend the Glendaruel and Mega events so that coins could be bought then, but personal circumstances mean that Jack and I are unable to make definite plans in advance for the best part of this year.
It seems fair to give GeoX members priority to purchase these coins, so to this end I have started an excel spreadsheet to record GeoX members orders. No money needs to be paid in advance. I am hoping that there will be enough LE coins for everyone to have as many as they wish, but if the total wishlist exceeds 50, then I think it's fair to limit them to one per person before distributing the rest.
I have attempted to upload the excel file (first time I've done this so not sure if it works) so please check it to see if your order is correct. Please let me know of any changes or orders either by posting here or via email. The excel file is here.
The coin looks like this:

The excel file won't open on my Mac, however will have a check at work tomorrow.
I can fully understand not wanting to get tied up with orders and posting them out, having just sold a few items on ebay myself. It's hard work!
I'd love to buy two if possible, however will settle for one (for my own (small) collection) if theres too much demand.
Thanks again for organising it all |

It probably won't open because I saved it using a 2007 version of excel. I have now changed the file to the older version - as advised by Big Wolf - so hopefully it should work now. _________________ Utterly smitten by a Captain

File has opened fine and my order appears as requested. We expect to be at the CITO/Hunt and Munch so will pick them up there. |

Me too please! 3 silver 1 bronze thanks. Will be at CITO.
Want to post one to Danvers Duo in America as they introduced us to geocaching. My brother has also just taken up geocaching (in Cheshire) I'm hoping the lure of a new coin will bring him up for a visit
Once again many thanks FoF & 'sponsored by Jack'??? |

I'm sure you could get a coin, but you'd need to be able to get to an event or make another arrangement to get the coin (see above). I don't have the exact cost yet, as it will depend on whether customs slap on VAT. However, I don't expect them to be more than £4 each, and quite possible a bit less. _________________ Utterly smitten by a Captain
