The best of luck with the concept, a very good idea given the significance of the year.
Just so you are aware the Mega Geolympics event has had mixed feedback due to it's proximity to London and how close it is to the Olympics. You may get the same type of feedback if it falls at the same time of the Commonwealths Games.

The event was a great success , and was well attended by both by ex-Mega committee members and South Ayrshire Council representatives to give advice and encouragement . As a result, the consensus of opinion was that there was an opportunity to take the concept forward by selecting a committee and formulating a constitution , this will be be done in a venue to be decided within the next 6 weeks .

Well , update it that the touchpaper has been lit .... and the beast has been set loose .....state of play is that a committee has been formed ; a constitution adopted ; a banking account opened ; and a website established ( still Beta for the mo. but looks fine to me )
So onwards and upwards ..loads of hurdles and challenges ... well some of you will know that .... and some will find out
Oh !, you do know that apart from potholes , Ayrshire is renowned for "Brass necks" ... so at some time YOU may well be conscripted in one form or other
