What is, or is not, a requirement for letterboxing is up to them, and is not relevant to having a cache listed on geocaching.com

As has been explained before, the requirement is from Groundspeak and is there to ensure that caches listed on their site do not cause reputational issue with Geocaching in general.

I agree with what you are saying. It is a Groundspeak rule. If they asked you to fly an American flag every time you found a cache would you accept that as well? I have had no-one saying that they would join me in approaching SNH to ask that Geocaching be recognized as an acceptable activity within the scope of the Scottish Access Code. Perhaps you think of geocaching as a sort of underground activity in which you have to get permission to play. Persumable Groundspeak make a lot of money out of geocaching yet they do not pay their reviewers (at least I don't think they do). Who represents us when we have problems with the rules? I don't see that asking that Geocaching be recognized would do any harm. If the answer was "no" then we would just be in the same position as we are today. We might even be better off since we would know why we were not recognized and could therefore attempt to correct it. If the answer was "yes" then geocaching would be much better off.

Don't know where you get this idea from but there is no need to adjust the SOAC as it is sufficient as it is to go onto someone else's property and take part in Geocaching. With regard to automatically allowing caches to be placed: I am 100% certain that this will never be added and is a complete waste of time even trying.

Sadly you are mistaken and one of the reasons that reviewers don't get paid etc is because they don't make large profits.

Agreed on both counts.
