I see new members popping up on the others forum who don't exist on G.com one of them posted an advert for Cialis(Viagra), hope we have a system for checking they exist and dealing with sock puppet like newcomers.
This might not be the proper section to post this in feel free to move it Admin _________________ "It's not whether you get knocked down.

I don't know the process, but since something similar happened with this forum. I now believe that there is a system in place to help stop this from happening on here. _________________ Let me know if I say anything that offends you

Yes there is and no there isn't.
New members have to manually sign up to the system. In theory this should stop automatic spambots from crawling the web looking for sites to auto register.
They are also supposed to send an email saying who they are and what their connection is to caching but almost universally this is ignored.
If the admin team had to ask every potential new member to explain what their connection is to caching because they didn't send an email, I suspect they would never get out to go caching themselves.
If anyone wants to take on this task, please let me know and I will pass it on to Admin.... |

I run a forum for my hillwalking club and 95% of new accounts are spammers. Unless I recognise the email address, I usually check it on stopforumspam, and if they pop up on that I delete the account.
It is a bit of a time consuming process though. |
