Anyone have any insight into what lead to this?

I think if you read the "adopting caches" thread and the "closed post" thread they may have been a factor, but I beleive these were just the final staw ones. |

It seems that Grounspeak have asked them to not allow any discussion of charitable events/sponsorship on the forums or cache pages.
What a ridiculous pile of etc
Who are the people who are have been harmed by charities, why don't they have threads on the forums debating the evils of sponsoring their friends?
I have always felt proud to be remotely associated with people like HH who do great things for charity. The geocaching community should be proud of their charitable work - and be allowed to "advertise" it in the subtle and understated way they do. _________________ Now a happily married pair of cachers! |

Mine was one of the threads closed because I made a Caching Canines Calendar and raised money for the PDSA.
They certainly know how to make someone who is trying to do a little bit of good feel bad.

You could try reading the Serious Discussion thread in here too |

If it's any consolation I have just changed my pet insurance to the PDSA. very competitive rates and something like a quarter of my premium goes back into helping those that can't afford to get their pets treated.
Well makes me feel good _________________ Let me know if I say anything that offends you

We've got American based cachers reviewing Scottish caches?
Is this the way forward, or just an interim panic measure? _________________ I am just going outside, and may be some time!

It's an interim measure, which can be viewed here. _________________ Let me know if I say anything that offends you
