Complaint upheld, HH - this is not Geofrees and we should know better.

The silly "in" jokes depend on the fact that this bird is a Laughing Gull larus atricilla, which is a N. American species - not normally seen while geocaching in Scotland.

I apologise and so will BT when he gets round to it. Smile

It wasn't a complaint, but now you have explained I can see the joke.

Did BT see it in Scotland or in the US when he was on holiday?

You're not thick! I was just being a smarty-pants!

I saw the gull when we landed on Liberty Island and thought at first it was a Black-headed Gull of the Rothesay variety. But they have red legs.
The gull here was sitting on the railing on the pier.

Also saw this guy, which I think is a Ring-billed gull Larus delawarensis

In that picture of the jetty; if you Photoshopped in the PS Waverley, you'd fool folk that it was Rothesay...

BT where you on the ferry whilst taking those pictures?
As I know how good the zoom on your camera is, how far away where they?

I took them from the Dolphin VI sailing from Provincetown to the Stelwagen Bank off Cape Cod.

These guys above are Humpback, and we saw Fin and Minke whales too. In all, 30 individual whales.
There were so many, that it was best to stop looking at them throuh a viewfinder and just gaze -it was awsome.

GULP!

We saw two Humpbacks breach -an amazing site and on several occasions whales swam right under the boat recreating that great scene in "Jaws".

The Rothesay-Wemyss Bay trip will never be the same again!!
