Only a month ago - though it seems longer - I was havering and wavering over the introduction of yet another geocaching discussion board.
"Would anyone be bothered to use such a thing?" I asked Firth of Forth, Wuthered, and others in a plaintive voice.
Well, I needn't have worried. From a standing start, the Geo-X forum has taken off like a tomcat with its tail on fire: 400+ posts and 25 registered members in 30 days, is pretty good progress by any standards.
It seems that there was a need for a "geocaching forum for grown-ups" after all...
So this note is to thank all the founder members for their support. The pints are on me, when next we meet.

I feel a preXmas drink event coming on. The venue might be a problem though...equidistant between N Ireland, the East of Scotland and the Highlands? _________________ Utterly smitten by a Captain

Ooohh!! There are some good caches on Arran, I believe. And I haven't done any of them. Pity Snaik hasn't put one of the top of Goatfell. _________________ Utterly smitten by a Captain

Good job, too.
I deplore this obsession with placing caches on the highest bit of whatever terrain is in the frame. People have no consideration for those of us who've put a lifetime's work into perfecting a 40-a-day habit.
Anyway, it's hard enough occupying the moral high ground here in Ireland, without having to climb real mountains as well.
