After losing 2 caches with TB's in them, to muggles, this week I have created a Scottish TB Graveyard at
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=6c262d92-46e9-459d-8941-9486d6a84dce

Please feel free to deposit any lost TB's in it

I suppose for people that want to give their TB's a funeral, a TB graveyard is good? I don't see the point myself as you can mark the TB as missing and it keeps it's mileage correct, but removes it from the cache page and your account page, but keeps it listed as your TB, see my Geocoin as an example.
Also is this a real cache that can be found? If not, how did you get it past the reviewers?

No it's not a real cache but they've done away with the ghost cache symbol, but they passed it, any suggestions welcome

I like the idea of this but if you cant record it as a found how do you stop PQ's from picking it up since its an active cache? (I run 2 PQ's each week and load them into GSAK. I suspect its going to be a pain to manually delete this cache every time I load up the new file)

I can see that one of the options in the PQ set up is 'not on my ignore list' but how do you set up an ignore list? Any suggestions...

I think you just go to the cache page and click the ignore part of the upper right hand navigation box and that makes the PQ ignore it

Have a few questions.

Can I just ask if the co-ords on the cache page are random then? If they are for a location where you could hide something then it might be a good idea to put some kind of physical cache there? Or get people to take a flower to that location and take a photo as evidence that they have been there and paid respect to the TBs?

I am only saying this because I don't bother much with TBs and have none of my own, so therefore presumably I will never be able to log this cache! Do TBs go missing on such a regular basis that most folk wil be able to log this cache then? Or do they log it as "found" at all? If not, then it's going to show up on their pages as being unfound which might be quite frustrating (unless you put it on your ignore list).

Can you put geocoins in it too?

Maybe this is just me not being interested enough in TBs but I am unsure as to how this is going to work. If one of your own TBs goes missing then it will be recorded as being somewhere else entirely - is the idea to grab it from wherever it is recorded as being and then putting it in the graveyard?

PQ's do not ignore the cache that are on you ignore list, I have 3 on my list that turn up in my nearest caches PQ.
What the ignore list does, is that it takes the cache away from your nearest caches list.

1 - cache site is an actual graveyard, I just selected the co-ords at random as I knew they lay within the graveyard, not entirely keen on putting something in the yard as i feel it might be a little disrespectful(I know there are others cache sites in graveyards and have even visited and logged one )
2 - they do seem to go missing regularly
3 - Geocoins welcome
4 - yes just grab it when it's reported missing and then bury it

I have found that if you add the cache to your ignore list and change the THAT section of your PQ set up, i.e. tick "Are not on my ignore list", then the cache does not get reported in the PQ output. Smile
