Hooked up and ready to roll...

Cases are packed, swaps box is full, maps are printed, and the Scots-voice version of Betty has been installed on my iQue PDA so it feels at home.)

Extra Lucozade, ciggys, socks, and hemorrhoid ointment are in the bag.

Puzzle caches have been pre-solved (thanks Angus) and those which turned out to be on top of mountains have been deleted from the database.

My plane tickets are somewhere about the place, and I'll probably find them soon.

Let the wind blaw high, let the wind blaw low,
Through the streets in ma kilt I'll go,
All the lassies say "Aw no! -
Who's that beardie auld geriatric in the kilt?"

I know that Nick will be especially pleased to learn that Agra will be attending the SGDO. Twisted Evil She plans to bring along at least one other person; and has several other folk staying with her that weekend that she hopes may wish to give geocaching a try.

The numbers just keep going up. At this rate, an event like this just wont be possible next year as we won't be able to find a venue big enough to accommodate it!

Looks like an ideal time to form a Scottish Geocachers Association?

Comments please

Indeed..
- especially to HH and BT who are keeping us advised of Bill's condition.
In many hobbies/sports anyone who cannot attend a meet even after regular attendance is quickly ignored/forgotten so their interaction should be commended.

Well done Angus! It was a great achievement to have such a successful event on your first go! And thanks to HH for the caches, Mrs I & family for a super raffle, and Wlw for a fun-filled quiz (although there may have to be a steward's enquiry about wattle!). it was a memorable day for lots of reasons!

A great event, and well done Angus et al for putting it together. A good weekend, in fact, all over. High points and low points...

Sad FlyBE delaying my flight on Friday, the hounds.

Smile Meeting BT for an outstanding cache-dash round the Ochils.

Sad Finding that there was a second railway tunnel.

Smile Twigger's face after he'd climbed a barbed-wire fence beside a gate, as he watched me open the same gate and walk through it.

Smile Driving up a muddy, twisting farm lane at maximum attack, because the car blonged to Avis and it served them right.

Sad Thinking that the cache at Davidsons Mains couldn't possibly be at the top of a hill, and it was.

Smile Sally getting flowers for logging her 800th cache. Aawww...

Sad Wattle. WATTLE? It was just asking for trouble.

Smile Graham's extraordinary display of coins. Even though I couldn't log any of them for religious reasons, it was interesting to see what they all looked like in the metal.

Sad Not getting any FTFs, this time.

Smile Not getting jumped out at, OR bombarded with sticks by HH - these little things make a big difference.

Sad Bill and Angela not being there.

Smile The First Lieutenant: he's a hoot.

Smile Decent food.

Smile Doing a whole load of caches on Sunday anyway. Sod it.

Sad Finding that the check-in guy at Avis Edinburgh Airport was a close relative of Kenny Dalgleish, and kept saying things like "Cram awr crunge" and "Bilt whar the hoon" which I couldn't understand as my Gutteral Monosyllabic is a bit rusty.

Smile Home.
