When viewing the contour maps in Mapsource, summit icons are displayed.
However, after loading a contour map into a Quest or Vista C, the contours are visible but not the summit icons.
We've fiddled about with the display settings on both GPSRs but to no avail.
Please, what are we doing wrong?

It may be something in the Mapsource settings when you're sending the map to the GPSr
Just occurred to me....does the GPSr have the summit icon on it? If it doesn't then it can't display it. AFAIK this is only a recent addition to the Garmin software and may not be in your firmware. _________________ No one is listening until you fart! |

The summit names (and the trigpoints, place names, coastline etc) are on separate (transparent) map tiles to the contours.
So you have to select these as well to load onto the GPSr.
If you use the map tool to draw a box for the area you want, it should select all of the necessary map tiles.
After selecting them, check the Map tab in the sidebar, it should list the contour files (named N55W004 etc), and the Summits, Coasts files etc. |

Many thanks for the replies.
