As mini-guybles likes to encourage sharing the morning, I happened to catch a piece on BBC Breakfast this morning about caching.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12307628

The cache that was planted in the video is GC2MG0M for anyone who happens to around five miles south of Aylesbury.

In case the iPlayer link has expired, someone has helpfully put the video on YouTube:

Meanwhile, I'm off to see if I can finally get hold of the River Rubbings final.

Small world, I've just finished posting a link to this on my facebook account and was then going to post it here. No need to now.

Useless bit of info No. 523: Coombe Hill is about a mile from where I grew up. Worth a visit if you're ever down in that neck of the woods (although hiding a cache in a puddle was a load of nonsense, imho). Very Happy

Well to my astonishment, when I rang my brother up to wish him Happy Birthday today, he announced that he was off to find his first geocache with the kids who'd seen it from the link I'd e-mailed them. They're in the States and the cache they found was one I'd found over there on Christmas Day.

Not sure they're going to be completely hooked, but at least it got them out on their bikes in the snow rather than watching tv.

Shocked

I have to agree the first cache was a terrible example, but true to what you find nowadays. It didn't look as though it was a great location either?
