Exactly; and so you should. That's why I didn't say which one mine is. Smile

This weeks winner is a very new account holder and hasn't even logged any finds or posted any pictures. Me thinks it's a sock puppet account so they can stay anonymous??

And why would anyone want to do that, I wonder?

Not surprisingly, there is some disquiet on the UK forum as well about this competition. Seems that people are unhappy about all sorts of things, such as photos being posted that are nowhere near the selected caches, email "bombing" to facebook accounts and syndicates. You just can't control for this sort of thing in a competition like this.

Anyone who'd like to vote for mine this week (genuinely taken at a cache), email me and I'll let you know which one it is. Cool But there are a lot of very nice Scottish photos again this week.

I must admit I am guilty of posting on my weekly quotation for facebook about my picture. Sad

As for this weeks winning picture, it could be someone using a sock puppet account so that they could enter for the same cache twice, which is against the written rules. So I am going to be completing the red flag as GSP will know if it has been used in such a way.

There's no harm in a little bit of advertising, Dave. What would be a problem is an organised syndicate creating duff accounts and cheating in order to get one of the GPS’s.

Whilst down at Weston I did hear from first hand that a group down south had organised a syndicate.

Aye, I'm quite sure most of know what's going on. It's up to GSP do the right thing and put a stop to it. I feel sorry for the vast majority of honest cachers who are being cheated by a few idiots.

So, it would appear from your research Dave, that this week's winner (whoever it is) has used a photo already available on the internet and has not actually visited the cache in question?

Well, there doesn't appear to be much point in entering this competition, does there?

Competition seems rather a misnomer - we certainly won't be bothering to enter or vote in the remaining weeks.

Just like to point out that it wasn't my research, another cacher pointed me in the correct direction. I did have concerns over the validity over the picture though and the google search added to those concerns.

Just noticed on the Garmin prize winners page that last weeks winner is now Bambography with the puffin picture.

Not a Scottish winner Sad , but at least its a caching name I know!

Good luck all for this week. Very Happy

I'm pleased that Groundspeak & Garmin have listened to and looked into the complaints that were made. It would appear as though the owners of the dog picture had broken the rules, perhaps more than one?

Looks like it has happened again. At least a sock puppet account has been used.

It does look like it? I have already red flagged it.
