Hi Folks,

I have been so impressed with this forum that I just had to go and set one up for the botanical community in Scotland!

I saw several parallels - a dispersed community of enthusiasts that skulk around the countryside, rarely meeting in person Wink

Of course the geocaching community has a head start in needing to be internet savvy in order to play the game, but I am hoping that this wont be too much of a hurdle for the botanists.

If you are interesed then please have a look at Plant Talk Scotland.

The set up will feel very familiar! - why try to improve on something that works so well? Content is pretty thin on the ground as yet as we have only just started spreading the word to join.

Special thanks to WLW for his help and encouragement in setting this up.

Thank you for letting us know, not sure that I will be able to contribute very much, but occasionally I do get a nice picture or two of plant life that I would be happy to share. I keep meaning to photograph the Twinflower which is rare but grows in this area, I could make that a mission this Summer. Very Happy

Thanks for the good wishes folks, I hope it takes off.

A nice picture of Linnea borealis would be special, lucky you Tooey having this gem close by.

I have also put a cross post to see if I can encourage some botanists to take up geocaching.

I know of two locations, one quite close by, the other on Deeside which I am told was relocated there by Queen Victoria. Not only a very early female Munro bagger she was also heavily into conservation, and they talk about it these days as if it were a new invention (conservation of course, not Munro bagging!).
