Hi,
What is the correct etiquette for logging a find of a previously logged DNF?
do i edit the original DNF to a Found or do i log a new Found and leave the DNF?
Also, when trying again on a logged DNF and failing again, would you log a new DNF?
Cheers,
G. |

Leave the DNF and write a new "Found" log for the day that you found it
The second question is more difficult to answer as different people would do different things. Personally I would log it as another DNF but others might not log it at all, or might log it as a note. Some people don't like logging DNFs in any shape or form so might not even have logged it as a DNF the first time, never mind on subsequent visits. It's up to you, but I regard my cache logs as a sort of diary of where I visited and what happened so I would log what happened when I went there. _________________ Only dead fish swim with the stream |

I know some people don't log DNFs but I prefer if people log a DNF or note that they didn't find for the caches we own as it lets us keep track of what is happening - if we get a few DNFs or notes for one of our caches then we can go & check that it is still there, where as if no-one says anything we don't know if there is a problem. we can also increase the difficulty rating if people aren't finding it easily. |
