Like few others we use welcome cottages for our hols (or the big tent).

However this year on contacting the owner for key details we were offered the same house for £100 less if we contact them directly (Llanelli if anyone is interested)

It transpires that welcome cottages usual cut is arround £100 of the total fee.

Anyone got any more direct contact details they would care to share ?

I never realised that the discount was that good. I did have details for one that we used in Fort William but lost it over time. Crying or Very sad I'll make sure that we keep them in future and post them here. How about also posting links to the cottage so others can see what it's like?

I have been somewhat reluctant to mention that I "do" B&B, firstly because I did not want to appear to be touting for business and secondly because I get as much business as I want really, but since this thread was opened I decided I might as well post as it might enable a few folk to clear some caches around Badenoch and Strathspey. My normal rate is £28 pppn but for cachers I would be happy to reduce this to £20. I only ever take one booking at a time since there is only one guest bathroom, no ensuites. But if you wanted to book as a group and are happy to share a bathroom - I have two double, one twin and one single guest rooms, and bath robes are provided. You will get a full Scottish Breakast and a very warm welcome. Wireless internet access. Ooodles of hot water. Endless supplies of Tea & Coffee and if you book ahead - you never know I might even bake a cake ! Oh - and I might have a few coins that you can discover - visiting coins would be most welcome Laughing

No - we dont have access to the beach - that photo was taken at Lossiemouth, easily accessible from here for a days caching.
A Eilean A Cheo is about 5 miles from Grantown-on-Spey, approximately half a mile from the village of Cromdale.
Email me through my gc profile if you would be interested in making a booking.

Tooey that sounds wonderful and very cheap rate for cachers too.

I remember the last B&B that I used, roolku and I gatecrashed Big Wolf's room, we even got another bed crammed into it. Laughing

This looks superb, a discount for cachers too! Would certainly consider staying here on my holiday to The Highland's next year (this year is already booked & paid for), is the price the same for children?

I hadn't considered a discount for kiddlywinkles, in my experience they eat more than the adults and manage to disperse more dirt and water in the bathroom than a bathing hippo. That said I think consideration is due to their parents whose burden is greater than mine - winkles can stay for £15 Laughing

Edited for typo

No, but if you know anyone who lives somewhere that is warm and sunny in Jan/Feb/Mar and would like to experience a dark and cold winter for a change we would be up for a swap Laughing
