I think this is a new product, using 1:250,000 and 1:50k or 1:25k OS original tiles, rather than derived data... but is still in garmin's own format, so yes not the same format as memory map.

No. Only Garmin Maps.

We tested it on Jack's Mio P550, which worked fine, if that's any help. I don't know what the difference is between that and the 350.

The difference is only that the P550 has Bluetooth and WiFi ...
